[36]C The original title on the MS was Dance No. 3, this dance having been
preceded by nos. 31 and 38. Later, HC squeezed in fairys. This was
HC's first work to be mentioned in a review (San Francisco Examiner,
 6Mar 1914, p7, coll), and it drew the reviewer's highest praise: " 'A
Fairies Dance'. . . has real charm. It is a conceit begotten in the spirit
of the lighter part of Liszt's 'Gnomenreigen.' "
