 C In (a) the 2nd movement has pages numbered 1-10, and on p8-10
the bar lines are drawn and whole notes placed in each measure. HC
obviously decided at that point that a few words could save him from
working out and writing out the retrograde passages for each instru-
ment; so at the bottom of p7 he instructs certain parts to swap the
"outgoing" inversion parts and for the players to work out the
retrograde movement for themselves by reading backward from there
to five measures from the beginning, where they turn forward again
and jump to his coda on p7.
