 F At Wilmington College, Wilmington, OH, 1 Mar 1953. The work
was to have been performed by an All-Ohio High School Orchestra
and Chorus, cond. Thorjohnson (director of the Cincinnati Symphony
Orchestra), as part of Wilmington College's Sixth International Folk
Festival. The logistics were beset by misfortune, however, and the
forces that Johnson conducted were much smaller than had been ex-
pected and were largely from the Wilmington area. An amateurish
recording of the performance was circulated, to the embarrassment
of HC and Thor Johnson.
