densed score, seemingly complete.
(2) On p[3] of this parted fold is an ink draft with pencil additions
headed "Taxim and Dance (Song on Other Side)," with 76m
in various meters, complete with repeats and D.S.
(3) Fuguing Tune. Pencil draft not quite complete in 55m on the
 2inner pages of the 2nd fold.
Of the remaining 3p, 1 is blank and the other 2 have "Notes on Records
 .. . from records at Teheran Radio."
 C These draft pages are among sketches for Homage to Iran (no. 845).
Some of the material, says SRC, was used in that work.

 C On 30 Jun 1957, from Japan, SRC wrote to Antal Dorati: ". . . here
are program notes for An American in Iran (the piece written for
you)." The Gershwinesque "An American in Iran" was used tem-
porarily as a working tide for both Persian Set and Homage to Iran,
but the two works are completely independent. SRC explains (oral
communication) that the usage was not in imitation of Gershwin's
An American in Porte but was meant to emphasize that HC was com-
