942 Twilight in Texas [for studio orchestra]

 D [Feb?] 1965. Commissioned by Eastern Airlines for a television com-
mercial. HC chose or was assigned Texas; other composers had three
other regions. According to the Promenade Concert program note,
the score is marked as "completed in February 1967 [recte 1965], some
ten months before the composer's death."
 F The circumstances of business use by Eastern Airlines are unknown.
 Aconcert performance by the New York Philharmonic, cond. Andre
Kostelanetz, took place on 20 Jun 1968 at Philharmonic Hall, New
York, on one of the Promenade Concerts. Twilight in Texas was
played as no. 2 of 3 Images in Flight, the 1st and 3rd being Paul
Creston*s Afternoon in Montreal and Night in Mexico.
