	M	(a) Ink fair copy seemingly complete in 45m on pi and p3 of a dou- ble fold. This copy lacks m21-23 and the last half of m20 as found in the pencil draft. (b) Pencil draft complete in 48m on both sides of bandsman*s manu- script paper. The draft uses only 1 staff, alternating between bass and treble clefs.
	C	In a note accompanying the copy she sent to Avery Claflin on 10 Jan 1966, SRC observes: The piece seems to be a stream of consciousness sketch for a string trio, the instruments answering back and forth. There's a missing beat in m2 and I think some wrong clefs maybe, not to mention accidentals. But it is perfectly rational. Ink corrections were made by Henry himself. He said there were 2 mistakes he wanted to fix but could not find them and just gave up. Well, it carries loving thoughts from us both?written by Henry to exorcise the thought of Death, I think. Love, Sidney. The copy, draft, and accompanying note were given to LC by Mr. John Claflin via SRC in June 1981.
