C SRC to Charles Seeger after HC's death:
The tune from Henry was written September 22. ... [As far as I know]
it is the last bit of music Henry completed.
In spite of the absence of the double bar at the end of your melody,
it is as complete as Henry intended it. He liked always to leave room
for more, so that he often failed to put a double bar at the end of a
piece. Of course he knew that he was, or had been, very ill; but with
life as with music, I do not think he really expected the end of anything.
