just as it does with no. 230, dated "Dec 1917" in CD.
 T HC? Caption reads "From course 5, lesson 2," which SRC views as
 apossible reference to material by HC. She had not, however, seen
the text, which begins "0 Man of Many words Who Knoweth not
the Word thy noise doth Hide from thee." Perhaps a copy by HC
of some text by a member of the Halcyon Temple?

the result of hurry?complete in 27m on 2p. The last 4m are marked

 D 1916-17? It was in these years that HC was most closely associated
with The Temple of the People, where his musical pageant on Bamba
(no. 219) was first produced in August 1917 and where this holo-
graph apparently remained from some early time until reaching the
Library of Congress in January 1986 (see no. 953, D). It was also in
this period that HC began seriously to concern himself, on the advice
of Charles Seeger (of the University of California, Berkeley), with
building theoretical support for his unique piano technique.
