the full title in HC's hand reads: "Varities (Combinations), being a
set of several little pieces in variegated style for different combina-
tions of a piano trio set. Written Specially for N. Y. Trio."

 F First spotted on a recital program by HC, at a private home but with
an audience, in Monterey, 12 May 1925; program repeated 15 May
1925 at the Ethel Denny Studio, San Francisco
 M (a) Ink fair copy complete on 6p, inscribed and presented by HC
to Dr. Milton S. Rosenfield of Palo Alto; in Feb 1980 Mrs. Rosen-
field gave it to the Manuscripts Division, Department of Special
Collections, Stanford University Libraries; photocopy at LC.
(b) Pencil draft essentially complete on 4p, bearing the earlier ti-
tle, The Dagna's Playing of the Life Harp. A title on a 1943
HC program. Cosmic Harp, is said by SRC to refer to this piece.
